Titan’s flat 20% offer

Škoda Auto registers 89% growth in June
PANJIM: Škoda Auto India registered a growth of 89% for June 2012 over the same period last year. Škoda Auto India’s total sales for June 2012 stood at 4,923 units against 2610 units for June 2011.
Thomas Kuehl, brand head, member of the Board and director, sales and marketing, Škoda Auto India said, “The fluctuating market conditions have dampened sentiment across the industry, however, we have managed to edge the market by growing 89% against the same period last year. The Rapid has been the growth driver and is an important part of our success story. The value for money proposition that the Rapid offers in the segment has been crucial to the products acceptance. The launch of the Superb Ambition further added to consolidation in the D segment.’
Škoda is working on their dealership network and after-sales service to enhance customer experience while reaching out to a larger section of customers across the country. Škoda currently has 106 dealerships in India.
New M-Class drives Mercedes growth
PANJIM: Mercedes-Benz India maintained its strong growth trajectory in India, with 10% growth In June.
The key growth driver for the period goes to the powerful, agile and luxurious new third generation M-Class, sporting the Mercedes-Benz new design language reiterating the philosophy of ‘Best or Nothing’.
Debashis Mitra, director sales and marketing, Mercedes-Benz India explains: “We are proud that the first 100 units of New M Class (Edition 1) costing over Rs 68 lakhs were sold within few days of the launch. We have sold 175 units of M-Class in the first month proving that our strategy to offer products loaded with features is well accepted by our customers & they are willing to pay a price for the same.”
The SUV market is growing at a rapid pace and our portfolio of SUVs has seen a rise of 41% compared to last year.
MTS launches mPOS – Mobile as Point of Sale
PANJIM: Sistema Shyam TeleServices Limited operating nationally under the brand MTS has announced that it is all set to launch an innovative service called MTS mPOS.
The service offers acceptance of card-based payments through mobile phones and tablets. It is an easy to use, hassle free, economical and a mobile substitute to the conventional credit/debit card swipe machines (electronic data capture machines).
MTS mPOS will add another dimension to retail and home delivery services, wherein even small shop owners like small chemist shops, provision stores, delivery boys etc will be able to offer ‘payment by card option’ to the customers anytime anywhere. This service reduces the high hardware costs of a conventional POS terminal & the monthly maintenance charges involved.
