Exhibition of produced woodcut prints at KA

PANJIM: An art exhibition of the produced woodcut prints organised by Vice-Versa Foundation will be held at the KalaAcademy, ArtGallery on February 29, between 10 am to 8 pm. The convener and curator of this august event will be artist, writer and cultural theorist Théodore Mariano Mesquita. The exhibition will display the produced woodcut prints
of the works of ten students from the final year under-graduate Bachelor’s and Post-Graduate Master’s Program from 26 fine art colleges and art institutions across India who participated in the 7-day workshop in woodcut technique at the foundation’s studio facilities in Goa. A jury constituting of eminent national printmakers Walter D’Souza, RM Palaniappan and Ms Anupam Sud selected the ten candidates from the 156 applications received. The workshop will be documented, with critical appraisal of the process and works produced, in word, photo and video, by noted curator and art historian Ms Niyatee Shinde and it will also be published in the second book of Vice-Versa in 2012 and exhibited at the Foundations Annual Art Exhibition.
