Comprehensive youth policy within six months, says Sports Minister

MARGAO: Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Ramesh Tawadkar on Sunday said the government would come with a comprehensive youth policy within the next six months.
He was addressing a function organized by the South Goa Zilla Panchayat to felicitated students at the Ravindra bhavan here on Sunday.
“The government will come out a youth policy which will prepare a road map for the development of human resources in the state”, Tawadkar said, adding that plans are afoot to revise the sports policy vis-à-vis 30 marks allotted for students participating in sports.
Saying that the Parrikar government is giving maximum stress on education,
Tawadkar said the government is committed to take education to greater heights in the days ahead.
“This government wants to create a sports culture in Goa by strengthening physical education to give a boost for the personal and physical development of the youth”, he said.
In his address, Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco urged the parents and citizens alike to make innovative suggestions to improve the education scenario in the state.
“The Parrikar government has many plan on the education front. The government want to make Goa an educational hubs”, he said, while complimenting the South Goa Zilla Panchayat for organising the student felicitating function.
Acting South Goa Chairperson Daya Pagi, former Chairperson Nelly Rodrigues, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan state project incharge Farrel Furtado, besides ZP members and other dignitaries were present for the function.
