MARGAO: The unopposed election of BJP’s Candidate Alina Saldanha may have scuttled a no hold barred debate on the sensitive issues on Medium of Instruction and the Dabolim airport in the Cortalim by-polls.
But, MLA-elect Alina says she has faith in the BJP-led government and Chief Minister, Manohar Parirkar in particular that both these issues will be resolved to the satisfaction of Goan people.
During an informal chat with newsmen during her visit to the city here on Tuesday evening, Alina said the Chief Minister has made it clear that he will settle the MoI issue. Replying to a question on the MoI, she said Parrikar would sit down with the stake holders and come to a decision which will be acceptable to the parties concerned.
As far as the Mopa airport issue is concerned, she referred to the Chief Minister’s categorical statement that the Dabolim airport is there to stay. “The Chief Minister will talk to the people and the stake holders and then decide on the Mopa airport”, she said, adding that she has faith in the Chief Minister that both the issues will be resolved to the satisfaction of Goan people.
