PANJIM, JUNE 4 — The dedication and hard work put in by the staff and teachers of St Anthony’s School, Margao finally bore fruit when the Department of Education granted recognition to the school. The management of St Anthony’s School has now been permitted to run classes VIII, IX and X in its own premises at Pajifond, Margao. An elated Principal, Mrs Merlyn D’Costa was all praise for Chief Minister Digambar Kamat for taking up the matter and said “without his help this would not have been possible”. Mrs D’Costa has, however, critical of adverse reports against the school in a section of the press (not Herald). The school has an unblemished reputation and such biased reports only add to confusion in the minds of parents, she said. What is of prime importance is that the management
inculcate proper values in the students, she said. Despite adversities, the school has come a long way and the management has left no stone unturned to see that its students do not suffer on account of lack of playground or other facilities. Efforts are now on to build a dream school for our children, the principal says, adding the school in the long run, like the students will overcome all difficulties with grit and determination.
